It is just over 13 years now since Peter Palmer left us. For many orienteers, his name is synonymous with the annual Junior Team Relay. But who was he and why was he so important to Orienteering in Britain?
In his remaining years he penned an autobiography which his son, Stephen Palmer, recently found again and has generously agreed to offer it in return for donations to the Orienteering Foundation.
We are pleased to report on two grants that were awarded in October 2016.
Alan Brown of North Gloucester Orienteering Club (NGOC) has undertaken an epic walk around the coastline of mainland Britain in stages between 2008 and 2016. He has written a book about his exploits titled "A Walk Round the Coastline of Great Britain", and has generously agreed to offer it in return for donations to the Orienteering Foundation.
