SBOC club development final report
Swansea Bay Orienteering Club (SBOC) was one of the first club development projects we supported. As they end the third year of the support, we present the report from them of the latest activities.
ERYRI First Aid Training report
Earlier in the year we made an award to ERYRI for a first aid course for their members (see award article). Read their report from the training!
Interlopers’ Club Development Year 1 Report
We awarded a grant to Interlopers Orienteering Club last year to help fund a club development project (see award article) and reported on their progress after the first 6 months. Here we bring you an update at the end of year 1
South Wales Coaching Day 8th November 2025
There will be an Orienteering Foundation coaching day at Merthyr Mawr Warren on Saturday 8th November 2025 organised by Swansea Bay Orienteering Club (SBOC). Further details below. This is an excellent opportunity to practice your orienteering skills outside the pressure of an event, in fabulous technical orienteering terrain, and particularly for adults who often lack orienteering training opportunities. Clubs can also use it as a way to develop budding new coaches, under the supervision of a lead coach.
Derwent Valley Orienteers club development report
Derwent Valley Orienteers (DVO) introduced a new CDO role in 2023 appointing Chris Millard to the post. This report summarizes some of the recent activities and achievements in DVO's club development.
British Champs raises over £250
Over £250 was raised in donations by participants at the recent British Orienteering Champs.
EUOC performance coach - 3 month report
Earlier in the year we made an award to Edinburgh University Orienteering Club (EUOC) to fund a performance coach for athletes on their performance programme. Mark Nixon was appointed as performance coach, and the athletes have have now completed their first 3 month block of the coaching scheme. 10 athletes were part of the first block, and all 10 are continuing for the next 3 month block. A report on the first 3 months follows, with thanks to the support from the Orienteering Foundation in making this possible.
Volunteering survey closed
The survey on volunteering in orienteering organised by the Orienteering Foundation has now closed. Many thanks to all those who gave their time to participate - over 700 UK orienteers in total.
