Help support the Junior Regional Orienteering Squads with their junior coaching course and junior training camp next summer.
As they have done in previous years, the Junior Regional Orienteering Squads (JROS) are planning a Level 2 coaching course for junior coaches, followed by a junior training week, next summer at Lagganlia. Although run by unpaid volunteers, the combined expenses for coaches and participants exceeds £14,500. JROS has previously benefitted from donations accompanying major event entries, but are missing this through the cancellation of the British Championships and Jan Kjellstrom in 2020 and 2021.
Here at the Orienteering Foundation we have been long time supporters of JROS going back many years. For example grants in 2020 (award), 2019 (award, additional award and report), and 2018 (video report).
We want to continue to show our support for JROS - and the wider community of talented junior orienteers, and the coaches of the future - during these difficult times. Therefore we are launching a campaign to raise funds for JROS in support of their Lagganlia activities in 2021. This appeal will help provide necessary funding to reduce costs for coaches and juniors.
