JROS 2026 summer camp appeal

JROS

Join our appeal to support the Junior Regional Orienteering Squads putting on their junior training camps this summer.

The Junior Regional Orienteering Squads (JROS) put on five different summer training camps each year for various ages:

That is nearly 100 juniors and 50 coaches and other staff. All are voluntary roles but when you add up assembly costs (trains, flights, driving), vehicles and travel on camps, accommodation, food (hungry athletes eat a lot!), maps, access fees, competitions etc. etc. it comes to a significant expenditure.

How is it all paid for? Well here at the Orienteering Foundation we have been long time supporter for many years for specific targeted initiatives (see Projects Funded). JROS also receives donations alongside people's entries to some major events (like JK and British - you may have seen it on the entry form) and gets other occasional one-off donations. However, the vast majority of the cost is borne by the junior athletes (or their parents!). We want to make these camps as accessible as possible to juniors. We also want to make it possible for JROS to continue to take new and aspiring young coaches, as the camps provide an excellent way to develop coaching careers (and many of our previous grants have specifically targeted this).

Therefore we are launching a campaign to raise funds for JROS camps this summer.

To get an idea what your donation might help support, here are some examples:

All are for 1 athlete on a camp - multiply up to support multiple athletes! For example,
