Are you thinking of a personal challenge in 2021? Why not do it as a fundraiser for the Orienteering Foundation!

Every year many thousands of individuals undertake personal challenges. For orienteers these are often physical activities including long distance walks such as the Pennine Way or Coast to Coast, long distance runs such as the Bob Graham Round, or events like the London Marathon or your local 10km. Everyone's reasons for pushing themselves in this way are different, and often very personal.

Whatever your motivation, if you are considering such a challenge in 2021 then why not raise funds for the Orienteering Foundation along the way. People love to give when they feel a strong connection with the cause, and knowing a fellow orienteer undertaking a challenge is a great way to build that. For example, last year Julian Lailey raised over £1000 for the Orienteering Foundation to support junior orienteering by completing the Joss Naylor Lakeland Challenge - read his report here.

The easiest way to raise funds for us is by creating a fundraising page at Just Giving, and advertise your page to others for them to donate. The Orienteering Foundation is registered as a charity with Just Giving, and we recommend it as the easiest way to set up a fundraising page for your personal challenge. It offers plenty of space for you to tell your "story", include photos and even videos, post messages about your preparations or after the event, and include a personalised message to donors. Just Giving also collect Gift Aid on our behalf, increasing the value of eligible donations.

To set up your fundraising page head over to our page on the JustGiving website and click the Fundraise for us button to get started.

What will you do in 2021? Remember, with your help we can do more.
