We are delighted to announce support towards costs for junior coaches attending the Lagganlia junior training camp this summer

In most years for more than the last decade the Junior Regional Orienteering Squads (JROS) has organised 4 training camps for juniors, which increased to 5 with the introduction of the Czech camp. This means providing up to 35 coaches each year to support these camps - a mixture of junior and qualified senior coaches. To build and maintain the necessary pool of coaches JROS uses the camp at Lagganlia for M/W14’s which provides a supportive environment to persuade young adults to develop their coaching career. However these ‘trainee’ coaches tend to be university students or to have recently started work and therefore need to keep costs as low as possible. This grant will help support the travel, food and accommodation costs for the junior coaches.
