Ian Gamlen ambassador
We are delighted to welcome Ian Gamlen as Ambassadors for the Orienteering Foundation in the West Midlands
The work of the Orienteering Foundation is promoted by the Chair and the Trustees, but also a growing band of Ambassadors focussing on specific regions. They all provide a vital role in keeping in touch with clubs and individuals in their respective regions, and it is a two-way steer:
- They raise awareness of the Orienteering Foundation with individuals and clubs in their region, for example communicating what we stand for, our strategy, where our priorities lie, and what projects we are seeking to encourage.
- They are our eyes and ears in the regions, learning for example how we can best serve individuals and clubs in their region, and what projects and initiatives would help local groups.
Earlier in the year we announced Lyn West and Wilbert Hollinger as Ambassadors for East Anglia and Northern Ireland respectively, and Duncan Archer for the North East when he stepped down from the board.
We are now pleased to announce Ian Gamlen as Ambassador for West Midlands. You can find Ian's biography on our Ambassadors page. You can also find biographies of our Chair and all our existing Trustees on our Meet the Board page. Finally you can contact any of them on our Getting in Touch page - please don't hesitate to do so, whether that be just to learn more, if you want to help input into our strategy, or if you have a project in mind that you'd like to discuss.
Lastly, we are always looking for anyone interested in getting involved. You can read more about what our Ambassadors and Trustees do on our Vacancies page. We would be particularly interested to hear from anyone in the Wales or South Central England where we currently do not have a representative.
