New ambassadors Caroline Mackenzie and Philip Jenkins
We are delighted to welcome Caroline and Philip as ambassadors for the North East and Wales respectively.
Coaching day 4th November 2023
The Orienteering Foundation is pleased to announce support for another coaching day in the Lakes, on Saturday 4th November 2023, in a similar format to previous ones (Sept 2022, Nov 2021, Nov 2019 and Nov 2018). We are particularly keen to promote coaching of adult orienteers, who are often under-served, but also welcome groups including juniors. Details of the day are below, including how to sign up as an individual, or encourage your club to attend as a group.
GPS tracking at British and JK 2022
Way back in 2020 we excitedly announce support for the UK Elite Orienteering League to provide GPS tracking at the British Long Distance and JK Championships in 2020 (see here). As we all know, in what seems now like a distant memory, those events never happened, but we carried forward the grant and GPS tracking was delivered at the British and JK in 2022. Yardleys School orienteering project
We are pleased to award a grant to Yardleys School, Birmingham to kick start an orienteering project at the school.
Lakeland Orienteering Club Family Project Report
Last year we awarded a grant to Lakeland Orienteering Club (LOC) to help cover development officer costs to launch a new Family 'O' Challenge initiative. You can read the original grant award here. Kath Savage and Claire Heppenstall are now appointed in post and have been very busy.
